Summarize:

Splitting the features of the input layer create a subset of multiple output layer.

The Split Field's unique values form the names of the output layers. These are saved in the target group.

Usage:

•  The split layer must be polygon layer.

•  The names of all input layers and split layers must be unique.

•  The split field data type must be character. Its unique values form the names of the output layers.

•  The total number of output layers equals the number of unique split field values and the extent of overlay of the

   features of the input layer with the features of the split layer.

• The feature attribute table of each output layer contains the same fields as the input features attribute table.

•  Attribute values from the input layer will be copied to the output layer.
